1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of Elite 8 Draft Board (the "app"), published by Cyngetik Labs ("we", "us"), on the web at elite8.cyngetiklabs.com and as an Android application. By using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What the app is
The app is a scorekeeping and organisation tool for running a fantasy football draft. It records the picks you enter onto a roster of starting positions and a bench. The app is free to download, and the basic board is free to use. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it for that purpose.
What can be bought, and what each thing gets you. Everything is sold through Google Play, and everything is a one-time purchase — nothing auto-renews, and nothing is ever charged without you choosing it at that moment:
- The unlock — a one-time purchase that opens the full feature set: the searchable NFL player list, the auction, snake and linear draft engines, pick timers, trades, the pick log, and shared draft rooms with league chat. It is sold at two levels. The first lets you draft on your own and browse and join public leagues without a code. The second also lets you run your own leagues — up to 10 a season, any size from 2 to 32 teams — and everyone you invite joins free. The higher level includes everything the lower one does. Once bought, an unlock does not expire. The 10-leagues figure is a per-season allowance, not an expiry: it resets each 1 March, and if you need more than 10 in one season, email nfl@cyngetiklabs.com and we will raise it. Deleting a league you barely started returns that slot; deleting a finished draft does not.
- A season of roster updates — a one-time purchase covering one NFL season, which keeps the player list refreshing as real rosters change. Your first season is included when you buy an unlock. Each season's pass expires on 1 March, at which point it simply stops; nothing is charged and nothing renews automatically. A pass bought within a month of 1 March runs through the following 1 March instead, so a late purchase is not immediately consumed.
Letting a roster pass lapse does not take away anything you have bought. Your unlock, your drafts, your rooms, your chat and the player list already on your device all continue to work. The only thing that stops is downloading new player data, until you choose to buy the next season.
Purchases cover both the Android app and the web version at elite8.cyngetiklabs.com. They are tied to the account you sign in with, so sign in with the same account everywhere you use the app.
Payment is handled entirely by Google. We never see or process your card details. Refunds are governed by Google Play's refund policy, and requests go through Google rather than through us.
The app does not host, operate, or facilitate any fantasy league, contest, wager, or prize. It records the picks you enter. Whatever your league does outside the app — including any entry fees or payouts among its members — is entirely your own arrangement and none of our doing. You are responsible for making sure your league complies with the laws that apply to you.
3. Accounts
You can draft on a single device without signing in. An account is required to join shared draft rooms, to sync drafts across devices, and to use anything you have bought — signing in is how a purchase is recognised, on any device and on the web. Joining a league someone invites you to does not require a purchase — only an account. Accounts are created in the Elite 8 app on Google Play; the website then recognises the same account.
When you create an account, you agree that:
- The information you give us is accurate, and the email address is one you control.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.
- You are at least 13 years old.
- You will not create an account on someone else's behalf without their permission, or run multiple accounts to evade a lock, a ban, or a league's rules.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, under Account → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
4. Usernames
Usernames are unique and claimed on a first-come, first-served basis. Choosing one gives you no ownership of it beyond your use of the app, and it becomes available to others if you delete your account or change it.
We may reclaim or rename a username that impersonates another person or organisation, infringes a trademark, is used to mislead, or is offensive — and we may do so without notice where the account is being used abusively.
5. Acceptable use
When using shared draft rooms, usernames, and chat, you agree not to:
- Post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, defamatory, or obscene.
- Impersonate another person, or misrepresent who you are.
- Post other people's personal information without their permission.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the app, other people's accounts, or its infrastructure.
- Deliberately enter or disrupt draft rooms you have not been invited to.
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose, including unlawful gambling.
5a. Reporting and moderation
Every player has tools to deal with a problem, and you do not have to wait for us to use them.
- Report anyone or anything. Tap the ⋯ on any chat message, or open Players in a draft room, or use Report a problem in your account screen — that one works even when you are not in a room. Reports reach us with the message text attached, so they still mean something after the message is gone.
- Hide a player. Hiding someone removes their chat from your view immediately, including what they have already said, and it follows your account to any device. Their picks stay on the board, because a shared draft cannot work otherwise.
- Hosts moderate their own league. The host of a draft can delete any message in it and remove a player from the league. Locking the league is what keeps a removed player out.
- Delete your own messages at any time from the same ⋯ menu.
We review reports and can remove content, suspend an account, or block access. We aim to look at reports within three business days. To appeal a decision, or to report something you cannot report in the app, email nfl@cyngetiklabs.com.
We cannot watch every room as it happens. Chat is not screened before it is sent, and content in a room comes from the people in it rather than from us. Moderation here is what you and your league's host do in the moment, backed by us acting on what gets reported.
6. Draft rooms and your content
You keep ownership of everything you enter — team names, picks, chat messages. By putting it in a shared draft room you grant us the limited technical permission needed to store and transmit it to the other people in that room, which is the only way a shared room can function.
Rooms are secured only by their code. While a league is unlocked, anyone signed in who has the room code can enter it. If you list your league publicly, its code is visible to everyone browsing the public list. Lock your league once your players have joined. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
The host of a draft can delete it for everyone. Any player can leave a draft they have joined. We may also delete drafts that are inactive, abusive, or consuming unreasonable resources. Do not treat a draft room as a backup — export your board to CSV if it matters to you.
7. No affiliation with the NFL
Elite 8 Draft Board is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the National Football League, any NFL team, the NFL Players Association, or any other league or governing body. All team names, player names, and related marks are the property of their respective owners and are used here solely to identify real people and teams for the purpose of running a fantasy draft.
8. Player data
Player names, positions, teams, and bye weeks are retrieved from a third-party public roster feed. We do not control that data and cannot guarantee it is accurate, complete, or up to date. It is provided as-is. Verify anything that matters to your league before relying on it.
9. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data stored in it will be preserved.
Drafts that have not been synced to an account are stored locally on your device, which you or your device can clear at any time. Keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose — the CSV export exists for exactly this.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from within it. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, or where we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cyngetik Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, drafts, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the app — including any dispute within your league, any lost or altered draft, and any content posted by another user.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you actually paid for it. In plain terms: the most you can recover from us is a refund of your purchase price.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is the case, the exclusions and limitations above apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any part of it at any time. We may also update these Terms; if we do, we will change the effective date above, and material changes will be made clear in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
